Although the hot-melt-adhesive you select is of the utmost importance to ensure a quality bond, an adhesive bead that is applied precisely and without error, box makers often overlook the importance of preventative maintenance. avoided if the box maker would have just selected the best priced adhesive, not simply the cheapest stuff that will melt as well. To help you avoid unwanted downtime and make sure your glue patterns are always at their best, just select one of our non coaling, non charring and non fuming Futura hot melt adhesives. Furthermore, you can prevent adhesive errors with:

- Check your filters:

Cold glue filters should be checked once per week after installation or after a change in the type or brand of adhesive. IMPORTANT: read the manual of your adhesive equipment manufacturer! remove pressure from the complete system!

- Make sure glue pressure follows machine speeds. Buildup adhesive over long periods of time and a lack of cleaning after the machine is down can cause extra downtime. Bad applicator heads can cause poor pattern quality. Applicator heads and nozzles are wear items, subject to the abrasiveness of paper and are susceptible to some chemical corrosion after prolonged exposure. - Check the Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) speed-tracking curve is Ok, Furthermore you should have an adhesive that is tested at high speeds as well, that's why we at Intercol, check our adhesives in our laboratory with dispensing equipment and High Speed camera's.. Doing so will help you to achieve optimum pattern volume at all machine speeds.

- Inspect your glue hoses for kinks and flushed periodically to check for clogged sections. Prevent flow restrictions, as this results in poor glue volume, extreme high pressures at high machine speeds. Look at the pump suction line. A damaged suction line could cause air gaps in the adhesive.
