Dispersion glue is a type of glue that is liquid at room temperature. A dispersion are solid particles floating in a fluid, mostly water. In waterbased adhesives we can have these following phases:
- solutions
- emulsions
- colloids
- dispersions
A pure dispesion can be a D3 waterresistant Wood adhesive.
Advantages of dispersion adhesives
Dispersion adhesives offer many advantages
- Relatively quick drying in relation to solutions like starch
- Waterbased, solvent free; Environmental friendly
- Repulpable, water solluable, and some grades are biodegradeable
- Wide adhesion range; also to plastics like PET/PE/PP
- Very efficient running on high speed processes
- Low environmental impact
- Cost effective
Blending with other adhesive products
